Rounding the Corner

Today has been a good one! Dave was feeling well enough to actually take the truck out for a drive ! We drove to the University District and stopped at Star Bucks for a "mocha". It was really good for Dave, and he felt so much better. He hadn't driven the truck since we got here. Our appointment with the team went well also. His lab work was excellent and he is coming along at a good pace. The skin on his hands is shedding, but that is normal after radiation. His strength is coming back and he walked up the "hill" to the SCCA twice and didn't even need to stop and rest. Tomorrow he will have less IV hydration; instead of 2 liters/day, he will have one. In a couple of days, he should be off the hydration pump altogether (another milestone). His PET CT scan is scheduled for the 20th (I thought it was the 17th), oh well! After that, we will know what the next step will be. Oh, how we hope all is well and we will be home soon. Guess what, Dave actually ate more than I did at dinner!!!! He even had seconds - boy, was that a step in the right direction. It sure made my day!
