Day 6

Molly, Stella and Sulla arrived yesterday afternoon and Dave was happy to see them. He is still having a lot of itching either from an antibiotic or the medication used to thicken the lining of his mouth. Today his mouth wasn't as sore and, according to his physician, he is ahead of schedule on his recovery, although the itching is really miserable. He has also developed atrial fibrillation (abnormal heart rhythm), another common occurrence after stem cell transplant. They are watching that closely too. It just seems like it's one thing after another. Hopefully, tomorrow will be more comfortable for him and he gets some much needed rest.

  1. Dave, glad to hear the mucositis is getting better. You seem to be following the pattern. I had atrial fibrillation too. I had some rash on the back of my hands, but the nurses got me some steroid cream and it cleared up. Sounds like you have something different. Hope everything continues to improve. You certainly are in good hands. GlenH

    Take care of yourself too.
