Thanks to the women of the Whitefish United Methodist Church, and others, who baked such delicious pies!! What a labor of love!

Two Down

Two tests completed today. We won't have the results until next week, but things went smoothly. Dave has the weekend without any appointments, but things start up again Monday with a full dental exam and cleaning. I am attempting to publish some benefit pictures in a different format. Hope it works! Here is Gary Elliott and Lin Akey getting things handled! Thanks you two! The three "miracle workers" are Joey Kositzky, Linda Malingo,
Jo Anne Evans. They "made things happen", thanks friends! Next is our son, D.J., and our daughter, Molly. Those two also "got things done", and have been a huge support to us. Thanks you two - we love you!

No News
Nothing really important happening today, but tomorrow starts with a CT scan, and a CT scan with contrast. Dave has to drink a lot of contrast media, so he isn't looking forward to that! Molly, Stella, and Sully left today back to Kalispell, and arrived safely. It was hard to see them go, but they plan on returning in July, this time with Jeff coming along. Every day it seems as though I meet someone else who is fighting the battle of cancer. Today, I met a 28 yr. old young lady, her 15 yr. old brother, and her mother. The 15 yr old is a stem cell donor for her sister. It would be really nice if they were mentioned in your prayers. There are people here from all over the world; brothers from Saudi Arabia, people from the Netherlands, England, and all over the United States. Ripley is definitely a "conversation starter". He is quite well-known here at the hotel and is receiving all sorts of attention. I hope Dave doesn't feel too slighted!!!

Rest
Dave sailed through his tests today, but is pretty tired this evening. Tomorrow is a day of rest and his big tests won't start until Friday or Monday, it all depends on the scheduling. Things can change fast here, so we have to check our mailbox at the SCCA at least once a day. Molly, Stella and Sully arrived yesterday and it is so good to see them. However, Stella woke up with a cold this morning so Dave has not been able to be around her. It looks like they will be heading back to Montana tomorrow. We sure hate to see them go!

Good Day
Had an appointment with the transplant team today to discuss the plans for the week. Dave's labs are still good, and he will only need lab once a week for awhile. Tomorrow he starts his staging tests which begins with a MUGA (nuclear scan that evaluates the pumping function of the ventricles, chambers, and how the heart contracts). Next are dental x-rays. They cover everything! Molly, Stella, and Sully arrived this afternoon and it sure has kept us going. It is so good to have them here. Everyone is pretty tired tonight and we are retiring early, as tomorrow will be a busy day.

Company Coming
We are so excited to see our youngest daughter, Molly, and our grandchildren, Stella and Sully. They will be arriving tomorrow - that will really lift our spirits! Dave keeps gaining weight and has gained 6 lbs. since our arrival, which is great. He's settling in and has relaxed. His blood counts are continuing to rise (good sign)and he is feeling pretty good. Had a little excitement today when the fire alarm went off in the hotel. Dave enjoyed talking to the firemen and checking out their equipment! Someone had been smoking near a smoke alarm (it's a non-smoking hotel)and set it off. I believe it's a $500 fine! Tomorrow more lab and we have an appointment to see the transplant doctor. We will get a new schedule for the week, which is going to be full of staging tests. Should be another full week.

Great Weekend
What a nice weekend of rest. The weather was rainy and gloomy on Saturday, but nicer today. We were able to take the shuttle to Westlake Center today. We spent about an hour sitting out in the sunshine and watching people. It was a nice outing for Dave. We don't know yet what this next week brings, but we will find out tomorrow after Dave's lab. We understand that there was such an outpouring of people at the benefit that it was amazing. Dave and I just don't know how to thank everyone for all they have done for us. It proves that the core of Whitefish is still a loving, caring community and there is no place we would rather be. Also, we would like to thank our friends and family throughout the entire Flathead Valley. - Thanks to all!
